This past month has been an exciting experience. I have been able to lead worship and teach kids, youth and adults about the love of Christ for the past month in a camp/bible club format and it has truly been a blessing and an honor. One other thing, it's not over... I have a little break this week but I leave this weekend to lead a week long worship workshop for a youth group in central Fl. Really looking forward to that opportunity... I don't have any pics as of right now from all the camps but I will give a report...

July

1st week, Lake Yale family camp. 1 child accepted Christ and around six baptized that had accepted Christ but never been baptized

2nd week, Youth camp at Panama City Beach. 4-5 students accepted Christ. Same amount for recommitments.

3rd week, Centrifuge trip with FBC Chipley. 8 students accepted Christ and 2-3 students for recommitments. (Revival has broken out within the youth group here. Be in prayer that it continues throughout the school year)

4th week, Kids Bible club in Dumfries, VA. 3 kids and 1 adult accepted Christ. Around 50 kids and 20 adults were there each night for the kids club.

Prayer request concerning each week -
1st pray for the child who was saved at the Lake Yale camp, parents do not know Christ
2nd pray for the youth who were saved and those who recommitted, that they would remember the commitment they have made and stay in the Word as the school year begins.
3rd pray for FBC Chipley Youth group, that the fire would not die and that they would continue to stay strong through out the school year
4th pray for Pillar Church and the work they are doing in Dumfries, VA.

Well, that’s it for now... I'll be posting pictures as soon as they come in...

Pic's

Haven't posted any pic's lately, so here ya go!

Do you remember???

First, sorry it’s been so long since I've posted anything... Sometimes a dry spell hits and a couple of months go by without an update... Hate when that happens but its over for the moment...

Second, it’s been a while, but do you remember a short little spill that I posted at the beginning of the year about "Change". Well, it’s happened, as of June 30th 2006, I will no longer be employed by the Baptist College of Florida... It’s been a good experience but its time to move on... I've met/worked with some really cool people... I've learned a lot - spiritually, socially, and musically... But it's time for that word that all good ol' Southern Baptist fear the most "Change".

So what’s next...? I'm not sure... Just know that it's time to go... short term, I have the month of July booked with camps... Three of them consist of leading worship and the forth is a trip to Centrifuge as a counselor for our youth group... Speaking of the youth group, check our website www.bcof1.com

Well, that’s all for now... Here’s the report on spring break: Nothing... Went home and then came back. That was it. Visited some friends and family but that was all... However, next year will be different... I think I will go to Montana or Colorado and snowboard the whole week. Well, at least snowboard the first half then spend the second half recovering from the soreness of it all... Anyway, back here at the grind... Not really anything to report... Well, the Gator's won the NCAA Basket Ball championship that was pretty cool... But as for anything new happening around here. Nothing... Well, that’s all for now... Just ready for 4:30 to roll around... We took our middle school students to a conference that was held in Pensacola. This was a conference we went to last year up in Birmingham. Last year it was great! Good music worship and the word was brought on more than one occasion. This time, Music worship was alright, not a lot of variety. Most of our students felt as though the worship leader was performing or trying to push his songs that were on his current album... The speaker did not do a great job at all... The first time he spoke, he didn't open the Word, instead chose to use personal illustrations and stories. The second time he spoke, he did open the Word... and did a bit of exegetical work, but nothing really deep or anything in proclaiming the Gospel... Matter of fact there was NO opportunity given for a response for students to accept Christ... Around 3,000 students attended this event and there was no clear Gospel presentation given whatsoever... I would have to say someone really dropped the ball...

Disciple NOW's

It’s finally over; the weekends of D-NOW’s have passed... Whew! Nah... It wasn't as bad as it sounds. Well, the first one was pretty rough but that was only because I got sick the Thursday before the first one started and by Saturday it was pretty bad. But praise the Lord we have a Doctor in our church and he was able to give me some really strong meds, and by Sunday I was feeling a little better... The first one I helped teach, the last two I was asked to lead worship. I was able to take some of our kids that make up our youth praise band at the church. They really did a wonderful job, I was really proud of them. We don't have a name yet... We've thrown a couple of names around. The one that usually sticks, being that we always play on Wednesday night, is "The Wednesday Night Band" or "Wednesday Night Band". I'm trying to get the kids to come up with a name and some scripture that will relate to the purpose of the band that also ties into the purpose of the Youth Group... But nothing has sparked their creativity as of yet... Anyhow, that's the update for now... This coming weekend we have the Student Life Conf. in Pensacola. (that's the middle school trip) and the next weekend is the Men's Conference at FBC Chipley with Dr. Johnny Hunt... The weekends just keep getting better and better! If only the weekdays could be that exciting... Maybe one day...

Here ya go...

Christie asked... Singing/leading worship
2. Playing guitar
3. Working out

Three things you want to do really badly right now:
1. Leave from work
2. Go home
3. Go out of state somewhere

Three places you want to go on vacation:
1. Italy
2. New Zealand
3. Montana (Snowboarding)

Three things you want to do before you die:
1. Have kids
2. Record a cd of good quality
3. Build my own house (not physically. I would like to design it and hire a contractor)

Three ways that you are stereotypically a chick/guy:
1. I like football
2. Don’t like to ask for directions
3. Ended up have over 50 people there. 37 were youth. Lots of food, lots of laughter (at some of the commercials and the game). All in all it was a really good time just to hang out with the kids... At half time, we did the usual thing and planned for our own half-time show. We acquired the ESPN video of Tim Tebow . Now, I had heard the talk, and I had seen a couple of pictures of the guy. But to see the guy in action... I now see what all the hype is about... Homeboy is a Hoss! The kid is definitely not afraid to take or give a hit... The boy is intense. If he keeps that intensity while at Florida. WOW! Its gonna be awesome... First and foremost, I hope/pray, he keeps his head on straight and walks the walk. He will have a lot of things thrown his way while at Florida, and almost the whole world knows who he represents... He will be able to reach a lot of people while at Florida... and let’s be honest, just like any other school, a lot of students need to hear the message he can share...

Benefit Concert for Tyler

Photo Opp...
Thats Tyler on the stool... The man himself...

Here's some pic's from a benefit concert we played at... I don't need no stinking list!"

Being a guy is a great thing... The outdoors is our bathroom, we can be easily entertained with just a simple role of toilet paper, Duck tape can fix anything, and some of us can wake up in the morning, take a shower, brush our teeth, put clothes on and head out the door without having to worry about fixing our hair. However, when it comes to making a list for shopping, why do some of us forgo this minor task - Because "it takes too much time, and I'll remember what I need when I get there".

That's what I say anyway, but then I forget how much time I will spend walking around Wal-Mart trying to remember the "one other thing I need to get". Most of the time (if you live in a rural community) you will more than likely run into a friend. This is good because you can enlist the friend to help you try to remember what it is you have forgotten. Sometimes this helps, sometimes it doesn't...

Another thing that may happen: you checkout and get into your vehicle and leave. Upon leaving the parking-lot you remember! - Alas, it’s not too late. You return to the store and get what you need. This is not true in my case. I usually remember that last item I wanted while on the road halfway between the store and home.

Of course sometimes it doesn't come to you until the next day. You wake up, do your morning thing and upon walking out the door (or putting on your shoes in my case) the light bulb flashes!

Shoe laces!!! I needed to pick up shoe laces for my boots!!! Stink nasty!!! Can't believe I forgot that!!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://elivingeasy.blogspot.com/2006/01/list-i-dont-need-no-stinking-list.html' title='"List? Not exactly how I would like to have it, but Iowa had a whole four quarters to score enough points to win and they didn't. (For those that don't know. Iowa tried for an onside kick in the closing moments of the Outback bowl. They needed to score a touchdown. They were flagged for being off sides on the kick. However, replayed showed that they were not off sides. The refs made the mistake and the call could not be overturned do to replay rules. Anyhow, after the penalty they tried the kick once more. Florida recovers. End of game) With a minute and some change left in the game, if there would have been no penalty. Iowa could have scored. They had driven down the field and were forced to score a field goal the series before. But it’s highly unlikely. Florida's defense would have tightened, and would have held the Iowa offense not allowing them to move the ball. (This is the way I visualized it anyway. Guess we'll never know)

It’s a win, and I'm happy for the team and I hope the off season is a productive one. Look forward to what will happen next year... The six-year veteran was fired after the Nov. 3 incident.
Dupuis and partner Prema Graham began arguing after Dupuis demanded she stop their car at a store so he could buy a soft drink, according to a police report.
The two then struggled over the steering wheel, and Dupuis hit her leg with his department-issued Taser, the report said. Associated Press

RANSON, W.Va. - Either they misjudged the distance or they couldn't take the traffic. For reasons that mystify authorities, five deer that made their way onto the top of a five-story parking garage suddenly leaped to their deaths Sunday.
Police Cpl. Steve Cox found the does' bodies on a service road to the Charles Town Races & Slots, next to a security van they'd narrowly missed.
"They took the plunge," he said. "It was just absolutely weird."
A woman called police when she saw the deer falling, and Cox said he found scratches and animal hair on the fifth floor, indicating that's where they had been.
It's unclear how the deer got into the garage, but Cox said they may have become frightened after getting trapped. Cars moving through the garage may have spooked them, he said.
Or they could have been fooled by trees that can be seen from the top of the garage, mistakenly thinking they were close to home.
The carcasses were given to passers-by for butchering.

Women charged after stopping for apple pie. Associated Press

CHURCH HILL, Tenn. - Two women's craving for apple pie got them in a pickle. The manager of a McDonald's restaurant called police Tuesday after the women, whom employees say were acting strangely as they ordered the pies at a drive-through, struck the side of the building with their pickup.
When officers arrived, they found Heather Amber Anderson, 24, inside the restaurant and behind the counter trying to open a cash register.
"I asked her what she was doing, and she stated she was trying to pay for her food," Sgt. Chad Mosely wrote in his report. "I checked with the manager and learned that the girl was not an employee and that she had been fired approximately two weeks ago."
Mosely said Anderson was unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred. He charged her with public intoxication and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Outside, the driver of the pickup, 41-year-old Neeica Jean Mull, also appeared intoxicated and told police she had taken prescription medication. She was charged with driving under the influence.

Turkey Day

Woo Hoo!!! Its almost here... The day we give thanks for all that we have... Well, we should do that everyday... But this Thursday is a day that is supposed to be specifically set aside for the breaking of bread and fellowship of family and friends. A day of giving thanks to the One who has given us life... Its a great day in my household. Its a time of all that I have mentioned above. Its also a time of remembrance. Remembrance of family members who have passed on, of Thanksgiving days of the past... Probably one or really a couple of Thanksgiving Days I remember were in my childhood. I remember waking up to the smell of a smoked ham or turkey on the cooker outside. A slight chill in the air... The morning and lunch time spent with my mothers side of the family. Playing outside with cousins and aunts and uncles... Then we (my dad, mom, and two sisters) would leave and go to my dads family thanksgiving day. I remember playing outside with my cousins, aunts and uncles there also... It was a great time. OH, I did not mention the food!!! WOW! The food was awesome. Any kind of meat, greens, peas, corn, all kinds of deserts... What do you remember most about your family's Thanksgiving day?

Band Pics

Here are some pics of the band, Now To Him . We recently played at a fifth quarter. It was late, tiring but fun. Got a chance to share about Christ. Not just through music, but gave the invitation. (Yes, a music major can give an invitation) Not sure if any decisions were made but you never know who may have asked Christ into their life and may have wanted to talk with someone privately about it first.

On a side note - Student choir at FBC Chipley has been longing for identity to go along with its purpose. So from here on out we are no longer referred to as "Youth Choir" but the Greek word for church in the New Testament "Ekklesia". The scripture we've adopted for the base of this ministry comes from Psalm 96:1-4a. One of the students introduced it.

Realistic

This one is a little more reasonably priced... and would be a good starter bike...

"On the road again"

So far this semester I have traveled to Tampa, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Nashville, and Tallahassee... Now its time for me. I am leaving after work to go for a much needed trip home... Haven't been home since June, so really looking forward to getting out of here this afternoon... However, this will be a very expensive trip. Not only because of gas but I will also be visiting the dentist and optometrist. Looks like I'll be spending some cash... But these are things I've put off for a while and now its time to "Get'er Done". (Being I haven't posted anything in a couple of weeks) What's going on? Not a whole bunch... Nah, here recently I have been in touch with some old friends (Their not old as in age, but they are friends from back home) Oh, how times have changed. These people are now grown up and have families of their own. But it still seems like yesterday we were going on youth group trips to Panama City. Going to football games and the fifth quarters that followed. Making trips to the "Promise Land" (Gainesville, FL - Go Gators!) and getting kicked out of a particular driving range. Coordinating a plan with our pastor so we could leave church early and T.P. a certain persons car. (They defied the T.P. gang. Said we would never be able to get to them. Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha... I laugh at their foolish talk)

The awesome experience we had conducting back-yard-bible clubs in New Orleans. VBS in Arkansas. Revival services in our own home town. The camps, conferences, and rallies we went to. Trips to the hunting camp, river, and gulf. The times we worked together and played together.

God blessed me with some great friends growing up. These people have been blessings to my heart and encouragement to my soul. I can only pray that when I have children of my own, they would have the same godly influences I had when I grew up...

(Exclude the illegal stuff and the dangerous stuff... We won't go into that)

%^&$#@*%$@

Oh heck yeah!!! I knew this day would come. Nothing really special happened this past Sunday. No fireworks, no parade to welcome me into the halls of thirty. But a still small reminder that I have now entered into another decade of my life. What will this decade reveal? What plans will God unfold in these next ten years? I'm not sure. It's rather exciting and scary at the same time. Exciting not knowing what lies around the corner. Scary knowing that time is slipping away and the past ten years have flown so fast...

However, people still think I am between 25 and 28... The first, a non-denominational camp, Leading worship for and working with children. A great experience and refreshing time. Two of the kids accepted Christ and a lot of attitudes changed by the end of the week.
Second, a youth camp down at Laguna Beach Resort, at PC Beach. Thought Dennis would cause the camp to be canceled but only caused a slight delay in the scheduled time the camp was to begin. One kid came to Christ and a lot of growing took place.
It was a great time… Now, here I sit, back at work… It’s so great to be in “Your Zone”… Not so great when you have to be out of it…

(I haven’t forgot about the bit I wanted to write about the crusade that took place in NY. It's Friday... Vacation begins in 8 hours... Well, not sure if you call it vacation. I'll be working at two camps; This coming week a children's camp, the following a youth camp. Get to lead worship and not sure what else. But it's all good... Maybe sometime in the fall or winter I can get away for a couple of days and do some snowboarding somewhere... Now that's a vacation!

On a different note, I recently read an article on Billy Graham and the crusade he was preaching at in New York. Philosophically, you can believe anything, so long as you do not claim it to be true. Morally, you can practice anything, so long as you do not claim that it is a better way. Religiously, you can hold to anything, so long as you do not bring Jesus Christ into it. If a spiritual idea is eastern, it is granted critical immunity; if western, it is thoroughly criticized. Thus, a journalist can walk into a church and mock its carryings on, but he or she dare not do the same if the ceremony is from the eastern fold. Such is the mood at the end of the 20th century."

Ravi Zacharias, Jesus Among Other Gods...

Began reading this book today and the above paragraph was in the intro... Brings a lot of questions to mind... Why is the name Jesus Christ so offensive when not tagged on to a curse word or used as slang expression? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Why can the media get away with criticizing and mocking Christian beliefs? Why is it so offensive and political incorrect for the media to do so to other religions?

She'll go 0 to 60 in...

Check it out... I have been kind of busy as of late and have not had any time to post a darn thing... So, here are some thoughts or activity that has taken place since my last post.

1. Wednesday 18, 2005: StarWars opens tonight at 12pm can't wait.
2. Thursday 19, 2005: Very, very tired. Made it to work on time but this afternoon was a bear. It was all worth it though, the circle is complete, very, very, very good movie and ending. Don't care what anyone says.
3. Friday 20, 2005: Mind still wandering with Wednesday evenings events, really good movie - really interesting people - and I do meaning interesting
4. Ahh the weekend 21-22, Band practice, lead worship Sunday morning, Band concert Sunday night. Speaking of the band check it out here (I know there is no pic of me,the site hasn't been updated in a while )
5. Week going well, hit the gym and began running today [It is Monday __,____ that's all I can remember]
6. Arghhh!!! Hurts to move, must get up, Ahhhh!!!
7. Feeling lots better, Friday 27, 2005: finished a Kent Hughes book (really good), looking at a pretty laxed weekend. Site of the week comes right to you from
Chipley.

That's it for now.

One day early, but had to share

Ok, I know the "Site of the Week" usually comes out on Friday, but I found this the other day and it's just too good...

On another note... I went to the movie theater here recently and upon the usual slide ad's with trivia questions posted on them running before the lights go down, there were about five stinking commercials that went on before the previews began. I was highly annoyed... Now previews I don't mind, they are like getting desert before the main course... But commercials, I mean... Why?... Isn't that one reason people go to a movie, so they don't have to watch another ad on the latest soft-drink that leaves you feeling refreshed and energized but in all reality leaves you bloated and less than physically sound... Before you know it, going to the movies will be like watching TV... a commercial interrupting every 10 minutes... It's on DVD's also. Sometimes you have to wait for the commercial to run before you can even go to the menu option... "Arrghhhh!!! And at times I like to wander to a place where I can find the local movie store open at 11:00 pm... But I do appreciate the small town life... I am from a small town, not as small as my current residence, but the same type of "laid back" atmosphere.

It's nice not to have watch all around you when driving in traffic. (Just got back from a business trip to Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tampa) People drive crazy... I'm glad the only thing I have to worry about around here is farmer John on his tractor, or the occasional fugitive cow freeing itself from the fenced in pasture...

Great to live in the small town... peaceful...

Tired

That’s how I feel at this moment... I am ready for this day to be over... Isn't it funny how mental labor can tire a person more so than physical labor... Granted, I have worked so hard physically that once the day was over I went home took a shower, had dinner, and went straight to bed, but mental exhaustion is very different. It's weird... It takes some time to wear off... You just can't go home, take a shower, eat and go to bed... It stays with you for a little while, then, as time passes... it fades away... Interesting, the effect mental labor has on ones body...

So ends another day

It is now time to leave the grind... Sunny with a few white poofy clouds in the sky... It has definintly been a nice day - Oh, no... need to go... a friend just came in the office to pick my mind about life...
